There are no shuttle services, but taxis are available to ferry passengers between the two terminals. Terminal 1 caters for general aviation and charter services, while Terminal 2 caters for international airlines, regional and scheduled flights.

There is an information counter on the concourse of Terminal 2 (tel: (0)22 284 4212) and one in Terminal 1 (tel: (0)22 284 4095), as well as four landline telephone numbers dedicated for flight information (tel: (0)22 284 4562/3/4/5).

Money and communications: There are banks and a bureau de change at the airport, as well as a post office. Eating and drinking: There are three restaurants at the airport, one in the public area, and two in Departures. Shopping: There are duty-paid and duty-free shops at the airport, several gift shops and a pharmacy. Luggage: A lost and found desk is located in the Arrivals lounge. Porters are available. Other facilities: Several travel agents operate at the airport.

Wheelchairs are available at the airport. Services for disabled travellers are provided by the Ground Handling Company (tel: (0)22 284 4611/9). Contact them for more information.

There is a conference room normally used by airport stakeholders for hosting meetings, seminars and training. Call TAA for information (tel: (0)22 284 2402/3). A business lounge and secretarial services are also available. Several hotels in town have conference and business facilities.

Car hire is available from Skylink Rent a Car (a licencee for Avis) at the airport or can be arranged in town.

Free car parking is available in front of the terminal buildings.

The airport access road is reached through Nyerere Road, formerly known as Pugu Road.

Road: Bus: City buses are easily accessed from the airport, with stops located 500m (600 yards) from the terminal. Many hotels have shuttle services for their guests. Taxi: Airport taxis are available for hire to any destination in the city. Travellers are advised to negotiate a price before setting off, as taxis are not metered.

There are no hotels at the airport, but many hotels in Dar es Salaam have shuttles to/from the airport. The nearest hotels to the airport include the Royal Palm Hotel (tel: (0)22 211 2416), New Africa Hotel (tel: (0)22 211 7050), Golden Tulip (tel: (0)22 260 1442), Courtyard Hotel (tel: (0)22 213 0130) and Peacock Hotel (tel: (0)22 212 0334).
