Getting There By Road
The Adriatic Highway (E65) runs to Dubrovnik from the Croatian city of Split and Bosnia to the north and from Montenegro in the south. Plans for a motorway to Split to link up with the new Split-Zagreb link are afoot, though it is unlikely to open until at least 2007. Driving in the city is a nightmare due to the pedestrianised old town, the sheer weight of tourist numbers in the high season and the one-way system. Parking is also often an ordeal.
