Hotel Palace A 45 million euro refurbishment has brought this large hotel bang up to international five star business standards with high-tech meetings rooms, break out rooms et al, as well as the Wren’s Club Spa with its hot stone therapy massages.

Karmen Apartments Arguably the best location in the city; these four excellent value apartments, run by the colourful Marc van Bloemen, are right in the old city on the harbour. Apartment one has the best views.

Kompas Rumours persist of a major refurbishment to bring it up a few stars, but for now this simple hotel overlooking the beach at Uvala Bay is a reasonably priced option.
