Business

Glasgow Marriott
Close to the Menzies Hotel and just off the M8, this 300-room hotel is popular with business travellers. Style is corporate and comfortable, with cable and satellite TV in all the rooms and wireless Internet access in the public areas. The leisure club has a pool, spa and a gym with a cardio theatre and and fitness studio. The hotel has 21 meeting rooms, the largest seating 700 theatre style, the smallest suitable for six.

Menzies Glasgow Hotel
Conveniently located just off the M8 motorway, just a short walk from the city centre, this modern four star hotel sits on the site of a former Rice Mill. All 141 rooms are fitted with Internet and ISDN points, and most have been arranged according to the principles of Feng shui. The leisure centre and spa has a pool, gym and Jacuzzi. There are five conference rooms, one of which seats up to 160 delegates.

Luxury

One Devonshire Gardens
Situated in the fashionable West End, this classy Victorian townhouse is the hotel of choice for visiting celebrities. It combines efficiency with country house comfort and contemporary style. All rooms have broadband Internet, CD and DVD systems, deep baths and fresh flowers. There’s a new gym with top of the range equipment, and in-room spa treatments can be arranged. There’s a fine dining restaurant and a less formal eaterie too.

Radisson SAS
This hotel only opened in 2002 and has 250 bright, modern rooms. It is conveniently close to the smartest shops in the heart of Glasgow and has three types of room: City, Modern and Nordic, all with different décor. All rooms have Internet access and many offer stunning views across the city. The fitness centre is well equipped with a pool, spin bikes and techno gym.

Moderate

Corus Hotel
This chain hotel offers good value accommodation in the heart of the city. Rooms are contemporary, with strong colours and just a twist of tartan. The public areas are light and bright with shiny wooden floors, while the bar has a changing fibre optic lighting system. There’s a restaurant and coffee shop and rooms all have satellite TV.

Novotel
Sleek and modern city centre hotel with 139 en-suite rooms and a good standard of service. Décor is clean and unfussy, and the rooms all have satellite and cable TV. There’s a rooftop fitness centre with a gym and a sauna, and the business traveller is well catered for with a choice of eight meeting rooms. The hotel also has its own parking.

Langs Hotel
Cool, trendy hotel that’s very convenient for the Royal Concert Hall. There are 100 rooms, decorated in various colours from smooth caramel to hot orange, and all with sleek, contemporary bathrooms, most with power showers. Rooms have CD players, Sony playstations, and satellite TV. There is a choice of luxury suites and four floors are reserved for non smokers. The fine dining restaurant, Aurora, offers modern Scottish cuisine.

Saint Judes
Lovely boutique hotel in the city centre with just five rooms and one penthouse suite.
