The Dolphin Hotel This large hotel has clearly spent a lot of time on the finer details and it’s this that makes the Dolphin such a great place to stay. And you’re in good company too; Jane Austen reportedly had her 18th birthday ball in the hotel's assembly rooms.

Amberley Guest House The Amberley is under new management and has just been treated to a full refurbishment. There’s a no smoking policy throughout the hotel and staff can speak French and Italian.

Hotel Apartments Anyone that’s staying more than one night (although single night rentals are possible) may want to consider renting a small studio or apartment. Locations are slightly out of the city centre but still within easy reach of the sights offering a cheap alternative to hotels and guest houses. Advance booking essential.
