Getting Around

Public Transport
The best way of getting around the town centre is by foot, on bike (see below) and by bus. The only way of getting around the Old Town is on foot.

The main bus company is EMT (tel: 963 158 515; website: www.emtvalencia.es) who operate regular daily services from around 0630 to 2230. There is also a night bus service from the Plaza de Ayuntamineto, which operates from 2300-0300 Thursday to Saturday.

The metro system (tel: 900 46 10 46; website: www.metrovalencia.com) is geared towards commuters rather than visitors, though line 4 (which is actually a tram) goes to the beach at Malvarossa.

Passes are available on all networks and the Valencia Card may be used on bus, tram and metro.

Taxis
Radio Taxi Manises (tel: 961 521 155), Radio Taxi Valencia (tel: 963 703 333) and Teletaxi (tel: 963 571 313) are the main providers.

Car Hire
Most of the major international operators have an office at the airport though normally you will get a better deal from the local Spanish operators. Unless you intend doing a lot of touring away from the city, car hire is not advisable.

The following operators have an office at the airport: Avis (tel: 961 522 162), Centauro (tel: 961 523 640; website: www.centauro.net), Europcar (tel: 961 521 872; website: www.europcar.com) and Hertz (tel: 961 523 791/732; website: www.hertz.es).

Bicycle Hire
Valencia Bikes, Paseo de la Pechina (tel: 963 851 740; website: www.valenciabikes.com) hire bikes and even organise bike tours.
