Description
Inaugurated in June 1993, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne sits on the shores of Lake Geneva. Set in the beautiful Olympic Park gardens, the museum displays sport, art and cultural collections from ancient Greece through to modern times. It is the centre of information on the Olympic Movement and preserves the heritage of the Olympic Games. The museum was totally renovated in 2000-2001 and now includes permanent collections, such as The Olympic Adventure, dedicated to the history and origins of the Olympic Movement, and The Athletes and the Games, which is fully devoted to the Olympics and athletes’ exploits. Air: Geneva International Airport, Zurich International Airport. Water: Boat: Steamboats depart from Geneva, Vévey and Montreux and stop in Ouchy. Rail: Train: Lausanne Station. Cable Car: Cable train ‘La Ficelle’ to Ouchy (from Lausanne Station). Road: Car: Motorway signs for Lausanne Sud, then the road to Ouchy.
