Located next door to the Danubius Hotel Gellért in the heart of Budapest, the Gellért Bath is a world-famous thermal bath and spa complex that first opened its doors in 1918. Based around the natural hot springs of Gellért Hill on the banks of the Danube, Gellért Bath is a traditional thermal bath house that’s renowned for its healing properties and consists of 13 indoor and outdoor pools. It’s the most famous of Budapest’s thermal spas and is admired for its opulent style and baths adorned with tiles, statues and marble pillars. The natural remedies use water that’s naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, hydrocarbonate, alkalis, chloride, sulphide and fluoride. It’s reputation is international and visitors travel from all over the world for treatments which include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, balneotherapy and electrotherapy.
