Description The archaeological site at Jumeirah is thought to date back to the sixth century AD and was the site of a caravan station along an ancient trade route that linked Iraq to Oman. It’s one of the most significant archaeological sites in the United Arab Emirates with sections of walling, a souq and houses – one of which is thought to have been the governor’s palace. Other finds, such as pottery, tools and coins, are on display at the Heritage Village in Diera.
