Air
Airlines serving Aruba include American Airlines, Air 2000, Air Canada, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta, Dutch Caribbean, KLM, Royal Aruban Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways. Airlines fly to Argentina (Buenos Aires), Bonaire, Brazil (São Paulo), Canada (Montréal and Toronto), Colombia (Baranquilla, Bogota), Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador (Quito), Jamaica, The Netherlands (Amsterdam), Peru (Lima), St Maarten, Surinam, Trinidad, UK (London, Manchester), USA (Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Louisville, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Newark, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Providence, San Juan and Washington) and Venezuela (Caracas, Maracaibo, Las Piedras, Punto Fijo and Valencia).
Approximate flight times
From Oranjestad to London is 11 hours 40 minutes (including a connection, normally in Amsterdam), to Los Angeles is 10 hours and to New York is four hours.
International airports
Queen Beatrix (AUA) is 3.5km (2.5 miles) southeast of Oranjestad. Airport facilities include a duty free shop, bank, restaurants and left-luggage facilities. A taxi service is available between the airport and the town. Bus services run to the town centre.
Departure tax
US$36.75 per person for all passengers travelling to the USA; US$33.50 for all other destinations. Children under two years of age and those in transit in Aruba for less than 24 hours are exempt. Departure tax is normally included in the ticket price.
Sea
Aruba has extensive duty free shopping and many cruise ships call in on their Caribbean itineraries. Costa Line, Cunard, Holland America Lines, Majestic, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Sun Line amongst others sail to Oranjestad.
