Air
KLM offers direct flights twice a day from Europe and South America to Bonaire. American Eagle has daily flights between Puerto Rico and Bonaire. Air Jamaica operates from Montego Bay on Saturdays. American Airlines operates direct flights to Curaçao from many US cities, with connections to Bonaire and gateway cities include Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Ft Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, and Delta flies from Atlanta to Curaçao, with connections to Bonaire. Divi Divi also flies to/from Curaçao. There is also BonairExcel, which operates several daily flights to Curaçao and additional flights to Aruba, although connections with KLM sometimes occur. Beginning December 2005, Continental Airlines will fly between Houston and Bonaire.
Approximate flight times
From Bonaire to London is 11 hours, to Amsterdam is nine hours 30 minutes, to Los Angeles is 10 hours and to New York is four hours. Times vary considerably depending on connections.
International airports
Flamingo Airport (BON) is 4km (2.5 miles) from Kralendijk. Taxis are available into Kralendijk and cost about US$8 daytime and US$10 night-time.
Departure tax
US$5.75 to destinations within the Netherlands Antilles and US$20 for international flights.
Sea
There are no international boat connections to Bonaire. However, Bonaire is regularly visited by cruise ships during high season (December to April).
