Passports
Passport valid for a minimum of three months beyond intended departure date required by all.

Visas
Required by all except the following:
(a) nationals of Kenya and Uganda;
(b) transit passengers continuing their journey to a third country within six hours, provided holding valid onward or return documentation and not leaving the airport transit lounge.


Types of visas and cost
Tourist: £25 (single-entry only). Business: £40 (single-entry); £55 (multiple-entry for up to three months); £80 (multiple-entry for up to six months). Transit: £10. An additional fee of £5 is payable for express service visas.

Validity
Single-entry business visas: up to one month. Extensions are possible. Apply to the Foreign Ministry in Asmara. Apply on arrival in Eritrea. Transit visas: 24 hours.

Application requirements
(a) Application form. (b) Valid passport. (c) One passport-size photo. (d) Fee. (e) Yellow fever certificate, if arriving within six days of visiting an infected area (except for passengers in transit and not leaving the airport). (f) Stamped, self-addressed registered envelope for postal applications. Tourist: (a)-(f) and, (g) A valid onward ticket and travel documents. (h) Proof of travellers cheques of minimum US$40 per day, or bank statement. Business: (a)-(f) and, (g) Company letter stating the purpose of the visit.

Working days required
