Passport/Visa
Note
Visa requirements for Guam are the same as for mainland USA; travellers require a visa or, if qualified, may travel visa free under the US Visa Waiver Program. If applying for a visa, application procedures are also the same (see Passport/Visa in US section). However, there is also a Visa Waiver Program specifically for Guam, the regulations for which are printed in this section.

Restricted entry
The following are not eligible to receive a USA entry visa: (a) people afflicted with certain serious communicable diseases or disorders deemed threatening to the property, safety or welfare of others; (b) anyone who has been arrested (except for very minor driving offences) or who has a criminal record; (c) narcotics addicts or abusers and drug traffickers; (d) anyone who has been deported from or denied admission to the USA. Note: Those who are ineligible may be eligible for a waiver of ineligibility.
Passports
Required by all except 1. US citizens entering Guam from the US mainland or a US territory, provided they hold proof of citizenship and valid photo ID card. Note: All visitors must now hold a machine-readable passport (MRP).
Visas
A US visitor visa is required by all except the following for stays of up to 15 days: 1. Citizens of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan*, United Kingdom, Vanuatu, or Western Samoa. * Taiwanese nationals are only visa exempt if in possession of a Taiwanese National ID card and they begin their journey in Taiwan and travel directly to Guam.
Note
The nationals listed above are declared visa-exempt under the Guam Visa Waiver Program on the following conditions: (a) Purpose of visit is for business, touristic or transit purposes only. (b) The air carrier is a participant in the Guam visa waiver programme. (c) All visitors are in possession of a completed and signed visa waiver form, I-736 (obtainable from the airline).
Note: Travellers who enter Guam visa free are not eligible to travel onward to the USA.
Types of visa and cost
Non-immigrant (business or tourist): £67. There are several other types of visa; enquire at local US Consulate (or Consular Section at Embassy); see Contact Addresses section. Some nationals may also have to pay a reciprocal visa issuance fee – details are available from the State Department (website: www.travel.state.gov).

Validity
Validity varies but visas have a maximum validity of 10 years. The Embassy no longer issues visas ”indefinitely.

Application requirements
(a) Completed visa application form DS-156. (b) Passport valid six months after visit and with at least one blank page. (c) One passport-size colour photo. (d) Fee, payable by bank paying in slip only, which must be payed and endorsed by the bank prior to application. (e) Documentation of intent to return to country of residence. (f) Supporting documents (such as purpose of visit), where relevant. (g) Self-addressed, special delivery envelope.
Note
(a) Most non-immigrant visa applicants are required to schedule an appointment for a visa interview with a consular officer, and may have to undergo a medical examination, for which there is an additional fee. (b) The six month requirement does not apply to United Kingdom passports. (c) Nationals of China (PR), Cuba, Russian Federation and Vietnam are also required to complete two DS-156 application forms and provide two colour passport-size photos. Male applicants aged 16-45 and nationals of Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Korea (DPR), Libya, Northern Cyprus, Somalia, Sudan and the Syrian Arab Republic are required to complete one DS-157 application form. Nationals of Northern Cyprus are also required to provide four colour passport-size photos. Please note that requirements are subject to change at short notice and any applicant should check with the US Embassy (website: www.usembassy.org.uk).
Working days required
At least 10 days, but up to several weeks. Applications lodged during the peak travel season may take longer.
Temporary residence
The individual must obtain a work or immigrant visa or be petitioned by a US citizen. Contact the US Consulate (or Consular section at Embassy).
