Travel - International Air The national airline of The Netherlands Antilles is ALM (LM). St Eustatius is served by Winair (website: www.fly-winair.com). Approximate flight times From St Eustatius to London (via St Maarten) is nine hours, to Los Angeles is seven hours, to New York is three hours 30 minutes and to Singapore is 33 hours (these times will vary considerably, depending on connections). International airports FD Roosevelt (EUX), 1km (0.6 miles) from Oranjestad, is served by Winair which runs scheduled flights from St Kitts & Nevis, from St Maarten six times daily (flight time – 17 minutes) and from Saba. Golden Rock Airways runs daily passenger charter flights to St Maarten and elsewhere. The runway is too small for jets. Departure tax US$5 to Netherlands Antilles; US$20 for international departures. Prices vary according to the airport. Transit passengers and children under two years of age are exempt. Sea There are no ferry services operating on St Eustatius. Plans to develop a service are currently underway. The roll-on, roll-off pier at Oranjestad enables small cruise ships to dock on St Eustatius. |
