Watersports
Saõ Tomé e Príncipe has some of the clearest waters on the western coast of Africa and is therefore ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Beaches have white as well as black sand. Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) on São Tomé is good for snorkelling (but there is only a rocky beach). Individual hotels can arrange diving trips as well equipment hire. Hotels and resorts can also organise deep-sea fishing trips, notably on Bom Bom Island.
Other
Visitors can also enjoy excellent hiking through São Tomé’s rainforest as well as fascinating and varied birdwatching.
