Storytime Kits

In partnership with First 5, Raising a Reader Storytime Kits are now available for check-out at the Library. The kits for preschool age children 0-5 years of age and are designed to help parents and caregivers teach and reinforce skills for early leaning and literacy develpment.

Each kit contains 3 to 4 books and pupputs, puzzles or toys to support the kit's theme.

Storytime Kit Borrowing Guidelines:

Storytime Kits are available to all those who have a valid San Benito County Library card.
Borrowers are limited to one Storytime Kit at a time.
Storytime Kits are borrowed for 3 weeks. Kits may not be renewed.
Overdue fines for Storytime Kits are $1.00 per day with a $6.00 maximum per kit.
If an item or kit is lost each item in the kit is charged separately: board books ($3.00 each), picture books (price of the book), toys, puzzles, puppets ($3.00 each).
Storytime Kit availability can be checked on our online catalog with a title search keying in “Raising a Reader Storytime Kit” followed by the desired theme , i.e.” Raising a Reader Storytime Kit -Dinosaurs.”
When checking out material at the front circulation desk, provide library desk staff with Bag number, i.e. Bag #1 and Theme when indicated , i.e. Colors.
When returning items, please check that all items are in the bag. You will be charged for any item that is not returned.
Please return Storytime Kits inside the library at the library’s front service desk. Do not use outside book drop.
