This collection features series to improve your reading, writing, grammar or spelling, a variety of dictionaries and other print resources. These resources are located in the Literacy Services area, for assistance with finding the right tools, or to access this collection please see Stephanie Lane, Literacy Program Manager.


Voyager Cover Voyager Series: Reading and Writing for Today's Adults

Voyager teaches the essential reading, writing, listening, speaking, and critical thinking skills and strategies needed by adults. Units are divided into popular themes and themes into lessons. Lessons in the early books also teach phonics and other word recognition strategies. Voyager encourages students to be active learners – engaged in thinking about and applying what they are learning.

Basic Grammer Cover Basic Grammar in Use by Murphy and Smalzer

This book focuses on the fundamental grammar structures normally taught in basic or introductory courses. Each of the 116 units is presented in a two-page spread, with simple, clear explanations on the left-hand page and practice exercises to check understanding on the right. An Audio CD with example sentences and answers are included, making it useful for guided or self-study.
