Mobile Library Literacy Service

San Benito County Free Library is excited to offer a new, free service, Reading Readiness Champions for child care providers and child care centers in San Benito County.

Our 32' mobile Family Learning Center vehicle will visit your facility on a monthly basis, providing resources and services to children 0-5, their parents and child care providers.

Services Include:

Storytime featuring stories, fingerplays, songs, movement and crafts.

Storytime kits for checkout. With a focus on a variety of reading readiness skills and include age-appropriate children's books, these exciting kitsets include finger plays, puppets and songs.

A variety of children's and adult materials in English and Spanish.

Free books for children who check out library materials.

One hour parenting workshops on the importance of reading to your child provided in English, Spanish or Bilingually.

Free Born to Read book bags for new mothers. Book bags contain books, information and resources in English and Spanish to help with their babies healthy development.

To qualify for this program your facility or site must serve a minimum of 10 children between the ages of 0-5 year of age.
