We have a selection of resources available at the library to assist you in your tutoring. Our Literacy lab equipped with computers and specialized software programs to use with your student or for your student to use for self-paced study.

Online Phonics Magazine, designed for parents but with many relevant articles and methods for literacy tutors. Contains some excellent printable resources for lessons.

ProLiteracy

A resource for tutors Proliteracy provides up to date information and articles, links to conference and training information and a weekly newspaper to share with learners.

Learning Upgrade

National Institute for Literacy

Providing leadership on literacy issues the National Institute for Literacy site features articles, discussion lists and resources for tutors.

Reading Rockets

Updated daily this site includes reading news headlines, research-based articles, tips for educators, video interviews with top children's book authors, a monthly e-newsletter and resources.

This site has games, resources and stories for beginning learners with a focus on phonics as the teaching method.
